When Mike approached me to do a new logo and poster for his band, I couldn't help but shake memory of the time that Jacob (the guy in the left side of the van) kept going on and on (and on) about the time they opened for the Gin Blossoms when it came time to tackle the poster...

SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTE / BLUEBRAIN
MUSIC FOR THE THE WORLD OF TOMORROW

CONCEPT / BRANDING / PRINT / ADVERTISING

From BLUEBRAIN:
"A few months ago, the Museum of American History invited us into their "vaults" to view archival footage of the 1939 World's Fair in Flushing Meadows -- the idea being we would then create a musical score to accompany the film, much of which has never been seen before. (The footage itself is pretty incredible. The majority of it is in color, a technology that was brand new at the time. There is actually color footage of FDR! As well as fireworks, high divers and synchronized swimmers.) The process has been unlike anything we've done before and we're really excited to share it.

This weekend, in the Carmichael Auditorium at the National Museum of American History, we will be performing this instrumental score live during screenings of the footage. The performances will take place four times over two days. This event is free and open to the public."

RESTRICTION

CONCEPT / PHOTO MANIPULATION / PRINT / ADVERTISING

From BLUEBRAIN:
"On Sunday, August 1st at 2 PM in the SE corner of Meridian Hill Park (Washington DC), dance company Urban Artistry will perform to an audience in total silence. At least it will appear this way to anyone happening to walk by. The audience will be listening to accompanying music, composed by BLUEBRAIN for the occasion, on headphones with a portable music device.

The music will be made available as a free MP3 download from bluebra.in. Audience members should come with this already downloaded to their device. A group countdown will occur at 2 o'clock to ensure synchronicity between everyones' devices (dancers and attendees)."
